This month we are delighted to present Dina Farrell for a return engagement. Dina owns The Old Ways at Mustard Seed Farm, a self-sustaining farm in Wolfeboro. Many who attended her recent home dairy presentation requested she come back to talk about herbs, growing them and their various uses. This will be our last formal program until September (So we can work in our gardens!) Please be sure that we get your contact info as we will be taking some field trips throughout the summer and having our 3rd Annual Harvest Dinner. We’ will keep you informed of dates and times by e-mail.

This month we are excited to present Amy Antonucci. Amy is a certified permaculture designer and the co-organizer of the Greater Seacoast Permaculture meet-up group based in Dover NH. She also keeps bees, chickens, and goats on her small Barrington homestead, and has worked in organic agriculture for over ten years. Amy will be talking about Building Great No-Till, No-Dig Garden Beds. This technique, called Sheet Mulching by permaculturists, also called Weedless Gardening, and Lasagna Gardening that creates gardens without the backbreaking work of digging or rototilling. Do not miss this informative talk!
Next month we are delighted to present Michelle Smith the garden center manager from Cameron’s Garden Center. She will talk about different aspects of gardening and greenhouses. Be sure to join us.

Join us for our Third Annual Seed Swap. If you are a home gardener and have saved any seeds from productive or unique plants, or if you have extra seed packets from this or last year and want to participate, please feel free to join us. We are looking for donations /exchanges of vegetable and flower seeds of all kinds. If you would like to send seed donations please drop them by the library in person. Heirloom and organic seeds would be especially welcome! Thank you to Michelle Smith of Cameron’s Garden Center and Dr. Tomato (David O’Connor) for their generous seed donations.

First Day Of Spring Is On The Way- Vernal Equinox 2012

Tonight, Wednesday March 7th At 6:00 PM, we are pleased to be able to present Dina Farrell of the Lode Ways at Mustard Seed Farm, a self-sustaining farm in Wolfeboro that has a small farm store where they sell any additional products they produce which includes raw milk, eggs, vegetables, fruit, herbs, meat and other farm items. Dina has recently been working to promote legislation that will support similar small farms by allowing them to produce and sell homemade foods and raw milk products without state regulations. She has been selected Chairman of Micro Farms of New Hampshire, a group that has been recently organized, primarily to support the Amendment to HB 1402 but to continue also to protect and promote small farms in this state through legislation and maintaining a network system of small farms. Don’t miss this informative evening.This is a free program; all are welcome.
